Activities

Cuboree & Camping Our fall family campout is the Great Plains District's "Cuboree" held at Camp Wisdom in Dallas, attended by many of the Cub Scout packs in Plano.  Pack 283's spring family campout is usually a lock-in or overnight at a museum or zoo in the DFW area.

Den & Pack Meetings Den meetings are the stepping-stones by which a boy progresses through the Cub Scout program with other boys in his grade level.  At monthly pack meetings in the Brinker Elementary gym, families of all Scouts in grades 1-5 celebrate their achievements and adventures in scouting.

Excursions & Field Trips Cub Scouts visit many places in their community including civic organizations, nature centers and parks, sports venues, museums, and historic locations.

Special Events & Service Projects Our Cub Scouts participate in the annual Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold awards banquet, Scouting for Food national canned food drive, spring clean-up day, Welcome Home the Troops at DFW Airport, and more.

Around Town The DFW area is home to the headquarters of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and its National Scout Museum, located in Irving.
